Elmfield Green Bellway Noticeboard

Key information

We work hard to be considerate neighbours whilst construction is taking place. The information below outlines key information on what you can expect from site and how we work to minimise our impact on our neighbours.

Site Working Hours

Mon-Fri: 8am to 6pm

Sat: 8am to 1.30pm

Sundays & Public Holidays: no working

These working hours cover operations and work which are audible at the site boundary.

People may be present on site outside of these times, but any work being undertaken should not be audible outside of the site.

Piling

No piling works will start before 9am.

Construction Access

Construction access will be taken off Wooddale Lane and not through Dadswell Drive. This is a temporary access for construction vehicles for the duration of the build only. New residents will use the Dadswell Drive to access the development, as per the planning consent granted by Horsham District Council.

Traffic Management

In order to ensure the safe movement of construction and non-construction vehicles along Wooddale Lane between the construction access gate and the junction with the A272 (Coneyhurst Road) to the south, traffic marshals will be present to supervise key manoeuvres. One marshal will be present at the construction access junction, and one will be present at the A272/Wooddale Lane junction. The marshals will ensure that vehicle manoeuvres are made safely. Both marshals will keep in contact to inform the other of incoming site deliveries.

Vehicles will not be permitted to exit the site to the north or enter the site from the north. Whilst the routing strategy will be supplied to all drivers, this will be reinforced by the traffic marshal at the site access point.

Deliveries

Every effort will be made so that deliveries of materials to site take place outside of peak times (8am – 9am and 4pm – 5pm), so as to try and minimise any disruption to the local highway network during these times.

Staff & Contractor Parking

We have a dedicated onsite parking area for staff, contractors and deliveries. Anyone who comes to site are informed that they must park on site and not on neighbouring roads. Signage on site reminds people of this obligation and staff/contractors are also encouraged to vehicle share where possible.

Wheel Washing & Road Sweeping

As part of our commitment to maintaining a clean environment leading to our site and for our neighbours we:

  1. have wheel washing facilities at the entrance/exit of the site to help limit any dust or dirt spreading from vehicles leaving the site onto Wooddale Lane.
  2. will undertake weekly road sweeping of the access road to reduce dust and debris build up

These actions and through regular monitoring will help reduce the possibility of mud/dust/dirt entering the local road network.

Dust Mitigation

Careful consideration has been given to the site set up to ensure where possible that activities that create dust are located as far away from neighbours as possible, with stored materials liable to dust generation dampened down or covered in tarpaulin/otherwise contained. Furthermore, dust will be minimised during cutting operations by ensuring machinery is fitted with on-tool water suppression or a dust filter.

During drier periods where dust creation may be more of an issue, we use a water bowser to dampen down site roads to reduce dust generation from vehicle and plant movements.
